Let's Picnic!

Okay, so here's the thing. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to eat earlier and I decided I didn't want to eat normal every day stuff. I know, I know, such blasphemy because who doesn't like eating pizza and sandwiches every day of their life?! Sorry guys, I like adventures. That includes with food. So, Pinterest to the rescue again! As I was scrolling through my feed, I ran across a picture of some artisan bread. Which brought me to artisan sandwiches! You guys. If you don't know what artisan sandwiches are, I HIGHLY recommended going and looking it up. Anyway, some of the pictures of these scrumptious sandwiches had them wrapped in fancy brown paper all laid out neatly in little take out boxes and then fit into picnic baskets. Which got me thinking. Can we bring back picnics?! I really want to go on a picnic now. And perfect timing since summer is almost here!! So I went on a spree of saving several (okay more like 50) recipes of different kinds of artisan sandwiches and summer foods. I found some great pasta salads, drinks, sandwiches, etc. Then I proceeded to scour Amazon looking up picnic baskets. Yes, it is confirmed, they do still exist. Albeit they are probably much more expensive now than they were 150 years ago when picnics were still commonplace. And guys, it doesn't have to be just for a date. Take a group of friends, or a friend. Go out and smell the fresh air, look at the world around you, take in the wholeness of yourself and let time slow down for just a little while. Make some good food, enjoy some good company and take a day to live outside the stresses of life. Learn how to laugh and actually talk to someone again. On that note, I feel I must stress this point. Please. I'm begging you. Learn how to have an ACTUAL conversation with someone, minus modern technology and distractions. Unless the distraction is a butterfly because I feel your ADD/ADHD. Learn how to get personal with someone. I know that's scary, but the world is scary and we continue on living and being brave without even realizing it. So my point in all of this is go on a picnic! In this day in age, its now officially an adventure. Be sure to research good areas in which to go and pack a blanket and bug spray. Or citronella candles if you want to make it practical and romantic.
